Different Ways to Use CBD

Different Ways to Use CBD

There are multiple ways one can use CBD. Sometimes the way to use CBD can depend on specific conditions, other times it's personal preference. We will outline the different uses and the benefits one may receive below.

CBD EDIBLES

If you don't know what CBD edibles are, then you deserve an explanation. It is a product designation for drinks and food that contain a measurable amount of CBD. Before we start talking about the benefits of this product, you need to know that there are lots of different types of CBD edibles.

First of all, there are 2 types of CBD isolates that we here are Snake River CBD use. Oil Based and Water Soluble.

It is important to say that the influence of Oil Soluble CBD, CBG and CBN does not start immediately. You will need to wait between 30 minutes and two hours before it starts to affect your body. Keep in mind that the cannabinoid takes time for your body to digest and metabolize just like the other foods that you ate. That is the reason why you NEED to wait. If your metabolism works faster, then you will wait less than two hours for sure. We can’t say precisely how long it will last, but most people experience the effects for between 8 and 10 hours. Our Gumdrops contain 50mg each of long lasting Oil Soluble CBD Isolate.

On the other hand Water Soluble CBD, CBG and CBN usually take effect for most people within 15 to 20 minutes because your body is mostly water and therefore it can digest and metabolize the Water Soluble cannabinoids more easily and quickly. But the effects only last between 4 to 6 hours. So if you need immediate relief, edibles with Water Soluble cannabinoids are the way to go. Like our Grizzly Gummies which have 30mg Water Soluble CBD in each gummy. Many people use them to help prevent seizures, help with anxiety relief and other immediate needs for discomfort.

Some individuals like to use edibles because they are discreet. This advantage is probably the sweetest one for CBD users. It is not a secret that CBD is still some sort of taboo subject in the world. Many people would rather choose to hide instead of using it in the public. Well, CBD edibles won’t look strange to others. The consumer can easily use them in every place they want.

CBD edibles are also easy to find! Many Companies, including us here at Snake River CBD, carry some sort of CBD edible and drink! Check out our many types of daytime and night time gummies.

You maybe know which benefits CBD generally can bring to your life. However, it is good to repeat them once again.

These delicious products may have a positive impact on your health. For example, do you have a problem with sleeping? Well, CBD or CBN edibles may give you the chance to “turn off” your brain and relax your body. You won’t think about the stressful moments that you had during the day. It's also great choice to try if you suffer from anxiety and/or depression. All these things may be improved with edibles.

    CBD TOPICALS

The skin is the body's first and largest barrier to the environment. Evolution created the skin in a way that it would be difficult to penetrate, in order to provide the utmost protection from harmful agents. Cannabinoids can enter the skin through tiny openings on its topmost surface. These openings are called pores. They come in 2 forms; either as hair follicles or sweat glands. Additionally, CBD oil can penetrate into the skin in spaces between skin cells in all 3 layers of the skin!

Topical application of Cannabinoids is beneficial as, Endocannabinoid receptors are found on the skin! Cannabinoids can bind to the receptors and impart a beneficial effect. This may include reducing inflammation and relieving pain. CBD oil, lotion or balms are all very good option for localized pain. When applied to affected areas, it will soak into the skin, bind to nearby receptors and imparts its effect in that specific region. It is important to note that topical CBD cannot enter the bloodstream. Thus, it is best for localized treatment. For example: treating skin diseases, topical discomfort or arthritis, patients can apply it to joints and muscles to help reduce the intensity of pain and inflammation.

The benefits of CBD and CBG topicals depend on its anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative effects. They may help relieve joint effects in arthritis patients. It may not completely relieve the pain, but it may help make the pain more manageable and in turn, improve quality of life.  Skin diseases like: acne, epidermolysis bullosa and psoriasis may be better managed by a CBD topical as well.

Our Rapid Relief Lotion is one of our top selling Topical CBD/CBG products. It contains CBD, CBG, 10 Terpenes and 5 Essential Oils for fast acting Pain and Inflammation relief

    ORAL CBD TINCTURES

CBD tinctures have quickly become one of the most popular methods of administering CBD oil. A pure CBD tincture is safe and easy to use which makes it particularly popular among first-time users. A CBD tincture allows you to get the benefits of CBD while remaining discrete if you choose. If you purchase a pure tincture, like our Solace Syrup CBD tinctures we at Snake River CBD offer—you might find it works better for you than taking an edible. A tincture may be your best bet if you are looking for long last relief.

A CBD oil tincture and CBD oil are different even though they sound very similar. CBD oils, for example, can be vaped whereas a CBD tincture is meant for oral consumption only. A CBD tincture is still a form of CBD oil, but you cannot vape a CBD tincture (we will talk about vaping next.) CBD tinctures differ from CBD oil the most in that it seems to work much faster. CBD tinctures seem to bring relief faster than both edibles and CBD oils. A CBD tincture also has a longer shelf life than other CBD products. For some people, CBD oil can be difficult to consume because it is thick and can leave an oily feeling in the mouth. A CBD tincture will be easier to consume because it is not as thick and is less likely to leave that oily feeling after consumed. CBD oil tinctures have brought relief to people dealing with chronic issues like anxiety, insomnia, nausea, inflammation, and even epilepsy.  A CBD tincture may be used to help any issue that a CBD oil may help treat.

The dropper bottles used for administering CBD tinctures make the process simple and easy. Our CBD tinctures come with a recommended dosage on the package to ensure you get what you need. It is best to start with one dose to test the product out. If nothing happens, you can try two doses. If one dosage works, we recommend cutting it in half. You may need less! To administer the oil, shake the bottle well, fill and empty the dropper a couple times with the tincture, leaving the amount oil desired oil in the dropper. Empty the dropper under your tongue. Hold the tincture under your tongue for at least 20-30 seconds before swallowing. This will allow the tincture to absorb into the membrane under your tongue. Your sublingual artery will absorb the tincture. Then, it will travel to your external carotid artery, and from there into your brain. If the taste of the CBD tincture makes it difficult to take, keep in mind there are flavored CBD tinctures to make the process even easier. That is why we at Snake River CBD carry Solace Syrup in a plain tincture or 4 Flavors!  Huckleberry, Butterscotch, Raspberry and Orange Cream.

    VAPING CBD

We at Snake River CBD also carry Choice CBD vape products.

There are two main questions that users have when it comes to vaping CBD: Is it safe? And, is it effective? Vaping CBD has caught on recently as a popular way of ingesting the drug. It involves putting a CBD e-liquid into a vaping device and then inhaling the vapors that are produced. Here are some of the benefits and drawbacks of this particular method.

Many people who use CBD like the experience of vaping. For some, it is about the process of actually inhaling the ‘smoke’, which they find enjoyable. But there are other benefits as well. Many users who vape CBD say that they can feel the effects ‘almost instantaneously’. This is because the CBD is being absorbed directly into the bloodstream, rather than through the sluggish digestive system

According to CBD School, “Inhaling CBD by vaping also comes with a higher bioavailability than other consumption methods which means more of it is absorbed into the body compared to other methods (with the same amount of CBD).”

The fast-acting nature of vaping makes it ideal for those who use CBD to treat anxiety, seizures, pain, or other issues that can come on quickly. When it is inhaled, CBD doesn’t have to make its way through the digestive system or the liver, which means that it may reach the bloodstream in more concentrated doses. While you don’t want to take more than the recommended doses of CBD, the more concentrated doses offered by vaping may lead to a more beneficial effect for some.

Despite the benefits of vaping CBD, there are some potential dangers that may make some users reconsider this method of consumption.

Vaping CBD can trigger allergic reactions in some people. These allergic reactions can be caused by the tiny, particulate level metals that are sometimes present in vape smoke. They can also come from the CBD e-liquid that is being vaped. E-liquid is usually made with propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin, which can cause serious reactions in some rare cases. these two compounds, polyethylene glycol, and propylene glycol, “can potentially break down into carcinogenic compounds when they reach excessively high temperatures.” There are some CBD e-liquids that are made using only pure vegetable glycerin, but these are hard to use with a normal vape pen. Some people with pre-existing lung conditions can also experience coughing and discomfort when vaping. If you are considering vaping and you have a pre-existing lung condition, you should talk with a doctor first.

Much like cigarettes, vaping can become very addicting. Even when smoking a substance like CBD, which has been shown to not be addictive on its own, the very act of inhaling the vapors can be stimulating. Developing an addiction to vaping CBD could easily lead to an addiction to vaping other compounds, like more risky tobacco products. Those who have a predisposition towards addiction may want to consider other methods of consuming CBD.

Vaping devices are made with a metal coil that heats up the liquid inside, turning it into vapor. These coils can be made from many different metals, and some are of a higher quality than others. There has been some worry among health professionals that these metals can leach into the vapor and cause health problems. A 2015 study published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health found that “overall exposure to metals from EC (electronic cigarette) use is not expected to be of significant health concern for smokers switching to EC use, but is an unnecessary source of exposure for never-smokers.”

While this may not sound particularly alarming, it is worth noting for those who are considering vaping as their main form of consuming CBD. Some lower quality vaping devices may be more likely to leach toxic metals, so it is important to research the type of vape pen you plan to use for CBD consumption.

As with any medicine, you should weigh the benefits that it offers against the risks. Vaping CBD is generally considered safe, but the risk of allergic reactions, metal inhalation and addiction may make some people consider other options.
